Gorge take away packaging

Gorge creates the first ice cream holder support to help solve the issue of sticky, dirty hands when eating ice cream. The piece was designed to protect the users’ hand while at the same time projecting the brand image and securing it’s artesanal and daring place in the market.
The holder is made from a fine piece of recycled card. Not too fine as to allow the liquid to drip through but fine enough to maintain the elegance of the brand. It’s simple, it’s minimal, just like the brand’s beginnings: traditional flavours with no frills. As the brand grew and began to develop flavours with a bit more edge, they wanted a piece that could contrast this.
A calculation was made to establish the measurement of the cone holder based on the circumference of the ice cream cup. Once the piece was designed, a die was created using a laser cutting machine. To help accentuate the importance of traditional production at Gorge, a stamp of the logotype was created and added to the holder using lino print techniques.
The selection of typography for the logotype had to show the more daring and modern side to the brand. Chaney Extended was the perfect fit to help contrast the elegance of the piece and the history of Gorge with the brand’s vision of itself as a contemporary, risk-taking presence in the ice cream sector.
